Just a quick note to let you know were getting a new amazing web site. It will have lots of photos of our classes as well as info about her stock. But all this takes time. So in the meantime we apologise if things are a little crazy. Everything will soon be normal again, or at least, as normal as it ever gets here.

Holidays For Wabi Sabiers

Dear Wool Pals,

We will be closed so that we can knit from July 1 until the 8th. On the 9th it's business as always. When I return I promise to write and tell you all about my adventures in wool out on the Sunshine Coast.

Books Books Books

We just got in a whack of new books including some great books for kids. Summer's a great time to teach a kid to knit. After all it's one of the most portable hobbies there is. It's perfect for evenings at the cottage or long rides in the car or as a way to occupy everyone on a rainy day. If you're looking to make a present for a new mom or baby, we've got some lovely new books. One of my personal fav's is "Itty Bitty Nursey" by  Susan Anderson.

If you still don't know how to knit we still have six places in our August 18th Knitting 101 class. But don't hesitate as space is limited. And this is a very popular workshop. We also have some fun felting classes on the horizon such as: Hat Blocking, Felt Flowers and a Mix Media Vest with Tonia.

Last but not least, just a reminder, in honor of National Knit in Public Day this Saturday, everything in our sale bag will be $4.00

Here's the latest scoop. In order to mark Knit in Public Day on June 11th, everything in our sale's bag will be $4.00. You won't want to miss out. 9-days to go.

We have sexy raw shetland fleeces. Only $32.00

Plus Fridays are still open studio so give us a call if you'd like to try out our equiptment. The studio time is free but you pay for your supplies. It's a great deal.

And last but not least, we have lots of brand new Turtle Purl. It's so lovely. Moonbeam sparkles.

Volunteers Needed

The folks at The Cornerstone Shelter are looking for a knitting teacher for some residents who are keen to knit mittens! Are any of you knitters ready for a change of volunteer job?

I do not know how long these lessons would last. This would need to be discussed. 

I did learn however, that there's usually a short session to explain to volunteers what it's like to be in the shelter and the rules of engagement. The people who live in the shelter have had some hard knocks and come from a variety of backgrounds. Interacting with volunteers is often the only time they get to let their guard down a bit. 

I think this is a remarkable way to give back to our community. Leaning knitting will open up many doors for these women.

Bring your lunch and get together with other fibre fans on June 1, from 11:30-1:30 and meet people with the same interest. It promises to be lots of fun as well as a great way to brain-storm.

Sad News!
Lauren, an employees at Global Pet Foods on Wellington had a bad accident during yesterday's wind storm. In order to help her, Nat and Bruce Myles are helping Karla, the owner of the shop, arrange a fundraiser on Saturday, May 14, 2pm - 6pm at Elmdale House Tavern. Please plan to drop by if you can.
